Oasis is a small census-designated place in Riverside County, California, located in the Coachella Valley near the Santa Rosa Mountains and the Salton Sea. It sits 141 feet (43 meters) below sea level and covers 19.6 square miles of land.
As of the 2020 census, Oasis had a population of 4,468, a decrease from 6,890 in 2010, with a population density of about 228 people per square mile. The community is primarily Hispanic or Latino (95.8%), with smaller percentages of White (12.6%), Native American (7.3%), and other racial groups. Most residents (99.7%) live in households, with 1,036 households recorded. Families tend to be large, averaging 4.3 people per home. About 65.6% of households have children under 18, and 57% are married couples. A smaller share includes single-parent households or individuals living alone. California State Route 86 runs through the area, connecting Oasis to other Coachella Valley communities.
