La Habra Heights, California is a small suburban canyon community in Los Angeles County, located on the border with Orange County. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 5,682, up from 5,325 in 2010. The city is primarily residential with 1-acre lots, home and ranch style properties, and very limited commercial activity. Hacienda Park is the main park, and there are no sidewalks in the community.
Geographically, La Habra Heights covers 6.2 square miles (16 km²), almost entirely land, and has a warm-summer Mediterranean climate (Csa).Demographically, the city is racially diverse: 49.5% White, 20.4% Asian, 11.3% other races, 0.8% African American, 0.8% Native American, 0.1% Pacific Islander, and 17.1% two or more races. Hispanics or Latinos make up 31.9% of the population. There were 1,921 households with an average size of 2.94 people, and 81.8% of households were families. The median age is 49.4 years, with 30.7% of residents aged 45 to 64 and 23.9% aged 65 or older.Population trends show modest growth and fluctuation over the decades, with La Habra Heights first appearing as a city in the 1980 census.
