Del Aire, California is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in the South Bay area of Los Angeles County, located between El Segundo and Hawthorne. Its population was 10,338 at the 2020 census, slightly up from 10,001 in 2010.
The neighborhood is divided into two roughly rectangular areas connected by a narrow strip of land along El Segundo Boulevard. The northwest section is bordered by I-105, the City of Los Angeles, El Segundo, Hawthorne, and El Segundo Boulevard. The southeast section is surrounded by Hawthorne and separated by El Segundo Boulevard. Key landmarks include the Los Angeles Airport Courthouse, the nearby Aviation/Imperial Metro C Line station, and the Los Angeles Air Force Base in adjacent El Segundo.Del Aire covers about 1.0 square mile, entirely land, with boundaries generally described as south of Imperial Highway between Aviation Boulevard and I-405, extending east of the freeway and west of Inglewood Avenue.
